Director - HR & Events
Jackie has over 25 years’ experience in the discipline of human resources management, many of which have been spent in the travel industry, IT, printing and publishing and in general consulting to companies ranging from large corporates to SME’s including retail and franchises, private health insurance, e-commerce, electricity and not-for-profit organisations.
Having graduated from the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa) with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Jackie completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management. She then joined Times Media Limited, one of South Africa’s major media groups, and worked her way up to the position of HR Manager. She later moved into the IT industry when joining Novell (South Africa) as HR Manager.
For the past 12 years she has been a principal partner of HR Plus, a leading Australian human resources consulting company. She concurrently held an Executive Management position at the Express Travel Group. Here her role included managing the Human Resources division and taking a proactive approach to developing and implementing the Company’s HR strategy. Whilst developing the employer brand and increasing employee and customer engagement, she developed her awareness of the power of aligning Human Resources and Marketing.
Jackie was also responsible for the Company’s Events division and successfully developed, implemented and managed over 50 conferences, incentive meetings and special events across Asia, USA and Australia.
In recent times, her expertise has been focused on working closely with fast-growing SMEs and taking a hands-on approach to lead them into the next phase of their development.
Jackie has a generalist background and consults on all strategic and operational facets of HR, Event Management and on the alignment of HR and Marketing within companies.
Director - Design & Marketing
Marcus has over 25 years’ experience of design, marketing & brand experience. A creative prodigy and brand expert, Marcus has transformed dozens of SME’s and large businesses within Australia and the UK with creative brand strategies. His portfolio has included working with a wide range of various sized companies across travel, retail (Fashion & Sports), franchise groups, IT Technology, corporates, construction, mining, medical, professional associations and not-for-profits.
After graduating with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Graphic Design at Salisbury College, England UK, Marcus worked as a designer at BBM Carlson Design UK for 4 years, at Davies Davies Design for 8 years and thereafter in partnership in his own consulting as a Partner at Design Strategy & Passion Design.
In his consulting capacity, he worked closely with the Express Travel Group for over 15 years to transform their brand and marketing capabilities, leading to increased brand awareness and overall Company growth for their travel agency membership base and franchisees. He has elevated the status of international and domestic conferences and events for amongst others, the brands of the Express Travel Group and the Australian Institute of Company Directors through his ability to design, deliver and bring a unique event to life.
In recent times, his expertise has been focused on taking companies into the next phase of their development from a marketing and branding engagement perspective including alignment with the employer brand.
His range of skills include brand concept and creation, brand identity, web design, digital marketing, social media, conference and event design, project management, digital and video design, packaging design and photography.
